Website: South Carolina 7th Best States for Disabled Veteran Support
Medical marijuana card website Leafwell today released a study that revealed South Carolina as the seventh-best state for disabled veterans, based on the number of residents successfully receiving disability compensation, scaled to their population.
The ranking reveals the best states for veterans with a disability on a scale out of ten, considering the key factor of access to disability compensation. To discover which state offers the most support to struggling veterans, the website analyzed data from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on the number of recipients, per state for disability compensation.
South Carolina ranked as the seventh-best state for disabled veteran support with an overall score of 5.8 out of 10. The state had 2,085 recipients (per 100K) for disability compensation, which, although lower than the top six, is still 27% higher than the national average of 1,642 people.
The ranking also revealed Alaska is the best state for disabled veterans, with an overall score of 10 out of 10. The state ranked the highest, with 3,073 people per 100k receiving compensation – a huge 87% more than the national average.
