Website: South Carolina Among States Most Willing to Invest in its Veterans

A new study has named South Carolina the eighth-best state for investing in its veterans, based on state expenditure data that has been scaled to their population.

The ranking, created by medical marijuana card website Leafwell, reveals the best states for veterans, considering factors such as total state expenditure on veterans, as well as specific spending data on medical care and education for veterans.

To discover which state offers the most support to struggling veterans, the ranking analyzed data from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on the total state expenditure for veteran care, veteran medical care, and education and vocational rehabilitation/ employment.

South Carolina ranked as the eighth-best state for veteran spending, with total state expenditure on veteran care being $113,491(per 100K) – 31% more than the national average of $86,310.

Alaska is the best state for veteran expenditure, with a total state expenditure on veteran care per 100K residents of $131,819 – a huge 53% more than the national average.
