SC Works Trident to Host Disability Job Fair and Expo

SC Works Trident will host a Disability Employment Resources Expo and Job Fair to connect job-seekers with the region’s top employers on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Dept., located at 4360 Dorchester Road in North Charleston. 

The event is open to the public and no registration is required to attend.

The event aims to remove barriers to employment and will feature representatives from top regional employers.

“Ensuring that all job-seekers have access to employment opportunities is at the forefront of what we do,” said Sharon Goss, Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments Workforce Development Director. “In collaboration with our partners, this expo focuses on breaking down barriers for job-seekers facing additional challenges, in order to help get them on a path toward gainful employment.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with community partners to learn more about a variety of employment resources including, maintaining benefits while working, how to apply for benefits, and resources available to job-seekers through SC Works.

In addition to regional employers, several community resource organizations, including SC Vocational Rehabilitation, AccessAbility, SC Commission For The Blind, SC Department of Employment and Workforce, and Dorchester County Economic Development, will be on-hand to provide important information and assistance to attendees.

In order to maximize the benefits of the event, attendees should observe the following guidelines:

• Bring an updated resume to the hiring event

• Be prepared to email your updated resume to employers, if needed
