Trident United Way Announces Second Round of Community Changemaker Grants
Press Release
Trident United Way, a leading local nonprofit organization committed to fostering positive change and development within the Tri-County, is pleased to announce their second round of funding in their Changemaker Grants program.
The Changemaker Grants program offers investments toward an agency’s effectiveness, efficiency and future sustainability by providing resources to improve or expand the organization’s mission. Last quarter, Trident United Way began their first grant cycle with a pool of $100,000, but increased to over $200,000 after receiving extensive interest from area nonprofits. Awardees of the first quarter grants are listed below.
Trident United Way plans to award Changemaker Grants in four cycles before June 30, 2024, with a minimum pool of $100,000 per cycle. Each grant cycle will have a specific focus. Individual grant totals awarded will vary based on the particular project and monetary request from each winning agency.
The second cycle of Changemaker Grants will focus on supporting local nonprofits’ ability to expand beyond their current eligibility requirements for those in our community living below the ALICE Threshold. ALICE®, an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed, represents the growing number of families who are unable to afford the basics of housing, child care, food, transportation, health care, and technology.
