Clay Middleton’s Campaign Manager Endorses William Cogswell for Mayor of Charleston
Today in a press conference, Clay Middleton’s Campaign Manager, Angela Kouters, endorsed William Cogswell for Mayor. Kouters began her career working under the late U.S. Senator Fritz Hollings. She also co-founded the Independent Restaurant Coalition, which secured $21 billion in federal restaurant funding during the pandemic.
“I have worked in politics my entire adult life, and I know a good person who is doing things for the right reasons when I see one,” Kouters said. “I had an opportunity to sit down with him after the results and ask about questions that matter to me most and was pleasantly surprised to find that we align. I’ve gotten to know him well through opposition research and on the trail and William has integrity, honor, and work ethic which contrasts with the incumbent having none of those shared values. When a person shows you how they are – believe them. I believe William will take on the mayor’s responsibilities with determination and get us the results our city deserves.”
