Going Places to Give “Bundles of Joy” to 120 Disadvantaged Families
Local nonprofit Going Places has been thinking about how they can spread joy to the disadvantaged kids who are home due to COVID-19 since the organization can’t give out bikes as planned. They are creating 120 “Bundles of Joy” which are bags filled with activities for the whole family to enjoy together.
Each bag will have:
- 4 coloring books
- 2 packs of crayons
- 6 pack of different card games
- Mini Terrarium (generously provided by Wonder Works)
- Either legos or a mini Jenga
At the end of May, Going Places will go to the food pick up areas located at the children’s schools and give out the “Bundles of Joy” – one to each family.
People can purchase the items needed to make the “Bundles of Joy” from Going Places’ Amazon wish list: https://bit.ly/GoingPlacesAmazon

About Going Places
Going Places’ mission is to provide disadvantaged kids with their most basic childhood right- A right to Joy. They do that by surprising every child in the low-income, high-poverty elementary schools with a brand new, high quality, custom bike. This bike represents Joy, freedom, escape, ownership, and restored innocence in these children’s lives. By the beginning of June, Going Places will have given 2060 bikes to disadvantaged kids in 3 years time. Going Places is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
