Sunday’s Holy City Vintage Market Features Raffle Supporting Carolina Youth Action Project

Published

on

This Sunday’s virtual Holy City Vintage Market (HCVM) will feature a raffle supporting Carolina Youth Action Project, a “local abolitionist organization that centers political education and community organizing to build power among girls, trans youth, and gender nonconforming youth.” The HCVM has supported the group in years past, including during a 2017 fashion show.

The raffle features one grand prize – a gift bag chock full of items from over half of the day’s vendors: Runaround Sue Vintage, Grease Kelly Vintage, Frenchie Vintage, Third Eye Vintage, Homesick Housewares, Peachy Keen Creations, Undead Threads, Threads Todisco, Lockhart Noise Co, Reflections African Jewelry, Malted Mutts, and Mermaid Miscellany.

How people can enter: To enter the raffle, folks should follow CYAP via @scyouthaction on Instagram and directly send a Cashapp donation to $scyouthaction. Write ‘raffle’ in the memo. Donation minimum is 1 entry is $5. So a $10 donation = 2 entries for the raffle and so on. Enter anytime on Sunday. Winner will be drawn at random on Monday

What’s a virtual market? The HCVM virtual market is 12 pm to  3 pm this Sunday (June 28th) and is happening via their Instagram story. HCVM will repost items for sale from participating vendors. Buyers will need to DM the relevant vendor to buy and set up delivery (the HCVM isn’t selling anything, just facilitating). But no purchase necessary: Followers can simply hang and tag HCVM in pics of your brunch, pups, and style, and they’ll repost.

About CYAP

The Carolina Youth Action Project is an abolitionist organization that centers political education and community organizing to build power among girls, trans youth, and gender nonconforming youth.
“We envision a South Carolina transformed by the radical organizing of girls, trans youth, and gender nonconforming youth, where our communities work collectively to dismantle the existing structures of domination, violence, and punishment that shape their lives and create spaces for growth and healing in their place.”

About HCVM

The Holy City Vintage Market normally pops up at Park Cafe and the Royal American with a parking lot full of local vendors slinging vintage gold. But times are far from normal! We began doing virtual markets as a response to the pandemic. It’s a fun way to spend time with our vintage-loving community without leaving our homes. It also supports local businesses that depend on markets to pay our bill$. All purchases during virtual markets are delivered safely either through the mail, socially distant drop-offs, or porch pickups – each individual vendor will arrange safe delivery deets with their buyers.
