Charleston Beer Fest Rescheduled to 2021

Published

on

The Charleston Beer Fest (CBF) on Tuesday announced that they have canceled this year’s event due to the spike in COVID-19 infection rates and will instead host their next in-person celebration on October 9th, 2021 at Riverfront Park in North Charleston.

“We feel it would be irresponsible to hold an in-person festival this year, especially when you consider the work that Palmetto Community Care (PCC) does to help stop infectious diseases,” Bradley Childs, executive director of PCC, said. “We want our attendees to feel safe when supporting our fundraising endeavors, so we think virtual events can achieve that.”

Event organizers are asking all 2020 ticket holders to consider redeeming their tickets at the 2021 event. Those who are willing to transfer their tickets to the 2021 event, will receive five additional drink tickets with their ticket for next year. The ticket purchase may also be considered a donation to the event host, Palmetto Community Care, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

If you prefer to get your money back, refunds will be made available upon request.  Complete this online form if you would like to request a refund.

In place of a live event in 2020, festival organizers are offering a full complement of free, online festival activities. CBF held its first Virtual Charleston Beer Fest on July 16th and plans to produce more on August 27th and September 24th, 25th, and 26th. Hosted by Yelp, and featuring local “suds-lebrities,” the virtual festivals will feature local breweries, homebrewers, crafters, and others to share insights and trends in the ever-expanding world of beer culture. The events are open to the public via the @chsbeerfest Instagram page.

Organizers acknowledge that COVID-19 is impacting fundraising efforts for PCC, so each virtual event will feature a ‘text to vote’ component with 100 percent of donations funding PCC’s work in the Lowcountry.
