Mayor Joe Riley Named Chairman Of Rep. Cunningham’s Re-Election Campaign
The Joe Cunningham for Congress campaign today announced that former Charleston Mayor Joe Riley has been named chairman of Rep. Cunningham’s re-election campaign. Riley served as Mayor of the City of Charleston from 1975 to 2016.
“Mayor Riley is an incredible public servant and one of my personal heroes,” said Rep. Joe Cunningham. “He brings a wealth of knowledge about the Lowcountry and decades of experience and I could not be more honored to have him serve as chairman of my campaign.”
“I endorsed Joe in 2018 because I knew he was exactly the kind of leader the Lowcountry needed,” said Mayor Joe Riley. “From passing a bill to ban offshore drilling, fighting to lower the cost of prescription drugs, and making sure our veterans get the care they deserve, Joe has kept his promises again and again. I’m honored to be named chairman of his re-election campaign and look forward to working day in and day out to ensure we send Joe back to Washington this November.”
