Prohibition “Easing Back” Into Business

Nearly five months after COVID-19 caused them to shutdown, Prohibition on Upper King Street has started to “ease back” into business.

“Honestly, we care so much about our community, we didn’t want to do anything to put anybody in harm’s way,” partner James Walsh said. “We’re ready to get the team back together, our employees are ready to come back, and we’re more confident than before that CDC guidelines and our own regulations will go a long way toward a successful reopening.”

Prohibition says they’ll have plenty of room for social distancing inside the bar, as well as out on their back patio. The business also says they have implemented several cleaning and service procedures including:

  • Guest and employee temperatures will be taken at the door

  • Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the restaurant

  • Menus feature the restaurant’s most popular dishes, and will be viewable via QR codes

  • Leadership is also working with the city on an exposure notification app designed to improve peace of mind for diners and employees

For the foreseeable future, the restaurant will be open for a limited schedule with dinner service Wednesday through Saturday from 5 pm to 11 pm; and brunch Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. The business is also offering expanded takeout options through OpenTable, and continues to accept reservations on that platform. Live music is expected to return with a blues brunch in late August.
