WREN 2020 Summit Moves Virtual, Announces Six-Weeks of Programming

The Women’s Rights & Empowerment Network (WREN) has moved its annual summit online. #WRENThisTogether Virtual Summit marks the organization’s fourth annual conference, and first fully-virtual conference, thanks to title sponsor and Columbia, S.C.-based Abacus Planning Group. The six-week series will launch on Thursday, September 10th, and is free for attendees.

“Now more than ever, it is important that all South Carolinians work together to enact change,” said WREN CEO Ann Warner.  “We want to create a space for women and gender expansive South Carolinians can come together to discuss challenges and real, actionable steps to creating a state that works for all people. Our organization views #WRENThisTogether as the embodiment that, collectively, our voices are stronger together.”

  • Week 1 – Thursday, September 10; 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Advancing Rights and Gender Equity in South Carolina’s Workforce 

  • Week 2 – Thursday, September 17; 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

From Disposability to Accountability: Disrupting Harm in SC

  • Week 3 – Wednesday, September 23; 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Community Exploration of Paid Leave 

  • Week 4 – Saturday, October 3; 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Youth Panel

  • Week 5 – Thursday, October 8; 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Advancing Economic Dignity in South Carolina

  • Week 6 – Wednesday, October 14; 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Keynote, NYT Bestselling Author Rebecca Traister

The first session, set to be held September 10, will give an overview of the workplace protections that South Carolina has in place, address the supports that are still needed, and provide examples of how private sector employers can implement change.
