Charleston County Public Works Launches Online Public Meeting for the Airport Connector Road Project

Charleston County’s Public Works Department launched a 30-day online public meeting for the Airport Connector Road Project. It involves construction a new access road west of I-526 to the Charleston International Airport. The project also includes a new interchange at I-526 and West Montague in conjunction with the SCDOT’s I-526 widening project. The new road will help alleviate congestion around Charleston International, Boeing, and traffic associated with events at the North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center.

The purpose of the online public information meeting is to provide the public access to information that would have been provided during an in-person meeting. The meeting will consist of information about the environmental process and proposed alternatives as well as an opportunity for citizens to provide comments. The County will accept public comment until October 16, 2020.
