Country musician, lead singer of Hootie & the Blowfish, and Charleston native Darius Rucker will be hosting the 2020 Country Music Association Awards (CMA Awards) alongside fellow Country superstar Reba McEntire. The 54th annual show is scheduled to air live from Nashville on Wednesday, November 11th on ABC.

Rucker had the following to say on Instagram when the announcement was made:

“Man, I always said I’d love to host the #CMAawards but never thought it would happen! Honored to be hosting one of the biggest nights of Country Music with my dear friend, (Reba).”

Rucker is a three-time GRAMMY Award winner and Grand Ole Opry member who first achieved multi-Platinum status in the music industry as lead singer and rhythm guitarist of Hootie & the Blowfish, whose 2x Diamond-certified Cracked Rear View remains the seventh-highest selling studio album of all time.

Since releasing his first Country album in 2008, which earned him the CMA Award for New Artist of the Year, Rucker has gained a whole new legion of fans with four No. 1 albums and nine No. 1 singles at Country radio.

A lifelong philanthropist, Rucker is a constant supporter of MUSC Children’s Hospital and has raised more than $2 million dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through his annual Darius & Friends event.
