Five Loaves Cafe Shutters Downtown Location After 18 Years
Five Loaves Cafe on Friday announced that they were closing their downtown location after 18 years serving the Cannonborough neighborhood. The restaurant’s locations in Mt. Pleasant and Summerville will remain open, and they did leave open the possibility that they could return to the peninsula in the future.
The following message was posted on the restaurant’s social media pages:
Thank you to the employees that worked this little restaurant like it was your own and happily served the community with warmth and kindness. It was your hard work that made this company what it is.
The downtown Five Loaves Cafe was located at 43 Cannon Street.

What the hell is our congressman doing to get relief for these businesses. Seems to me he’s got other things on his mind. How may more closings before he speaks up and tells Nancy Charleston’s restaurant business is collapsing.
