49th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Kickoff
Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg, The InterTech Group CEO Anita Zucker, YWCA Greater Charleston Board Chairwoman Tamara Curry, YWCA Greater Charleston Executive Director LaVanda Brown, and representatives of the Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Medical University of South Carolina will kick off the 49th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration at 9:30 am, Tuesday, December 15th, 2020 in the Camden Room of the Charleston Visitor Center, located at 375 Meeting Street.
At the press conference, Mayor Tecklenburg will introduce Anita Zucker as the MLK Breakfast-Summit’s keynote speaker, and LaVanda Brown will highlight the MLK Celebration events in further detail.
The MLK Celebration, co-sponsored by the YWCA Greater Charleston and the city of Charleston, is considered South Carolina’s largest tribute to Dr. King.
The kickoff will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/CityCharleston.
Attendees are reminded to wear a mask and practice safe social distancing.
