Tara Guérard Launches May Cabas Bike Baskets

Tara Guérard of Tara Guérard Soirée recently launched a line of rattan bike baskets called May Cabas. She will be celebrating the launch on Saturday, December 19th with a festive outdoor celebration at her 70 Queen Street studio.

Guests can join Guérard for cocktails and shop her new collection of handcrafted rattan bike baskets. If you purchase a basket, you will get a complimentary nameplate engraved on-site.

The handcrafted rattan bike baskets designed by Guérard are a result of her personal quest to find the perfect oversized bike basket. As an avid bike rider, Guérard says she had trouble sourcing a basket design that was big enough for her strolls around downtown Charleston and New York City. The event planner spent years searching but could never quite find the style she was looking for—so this year Guérard sketched a basket design for fun that is inspired by Parisian market baskets. Following some encouragement from friends, she decided to have them made so others could enjoy them too.

The bike baskets are available now in two sizes GRAND ($175) and PLUS GRAND ($225) and made of rattan with weather-resistant coating and designed with dual top panels secured with knot closure. Maya Cabas can be purchased at Tara Guérard Soirée’s studio event and at www.maycabas.com. The event will run from 11 am to 5 pm.
