Press Release

Ingevity (NYSE: NGVT) and its employees are pleased to announce a pledge of $1,000,000 through its annual Trident United Way campaign for nonprofit organizations during the pandemic. This marks the seventh consecutive year Ingevity and its North Charleston-based employees have donated $1 million through the annual campaign in alignment with the company’s mission of being a positive influence in the communities where it operates.

“Many residents in our community are struggling physically, mentally and financially during these challenging times,” said John Fortson, president and CEO, Ingevity. “Donations from my coworkers, and the match of their dollars, will provide opportunities that ease some of these burdens. I’m grateful to work with a team of colleagues that care deeply about helping those in need, especially during a  tumultuous year where they face their own personal challenges. They really stepped up to the plate.”

“The generosity of the Ingevity team is inspirational to us all. They continue to bring  the hope of a brighter tomorrow – even and especially – in the midst of a pandemic,” said Chloe Knight Tonney, president and CEO, Trident United Way. “We are grateful for  Ingevity’s long-standing corporate citizenship and individual benevolence that  improves lives and empowers our neighbors in need.”

Ingevity employs approximately 600 employees in North Charleston. To maximize the  impact of dollars pledged, Ingevity matched employee giving dollar-for-dollar. Trident  United Way and its funded charities are primary beneficiaries of donations through the campaign, working together with Ingevity to provide hope and assistance that lead to  bold community change. Ingevity’s charitable donation will provide sustainability, human health and educational opportunities for many throughout our region.
