Charleston Gaillard Center Single Tickets On Sale Friday

The Gaillard Center is ushering in the new year by launching single ticket sales to two in-person performances and five virtual programs.

Tickets will be on sale to the public on Friday, January 8th at 11 am. You can get pre-sale access by becoming a Charleston Gaillard Center Member. To become a member, contact the Development Office at development@gaillardcenter.org or (843) 579-6468 for more information.

Here’s a look at the upcoming schedule:

IN-PERSON, SOCIALLY-DISTANCED PERFORMANCES

  • Jean-Yves Thibaudet: An Evening of Debussy Preludes
    • April 11, 2021 at 12 pm and 7:30 pm*
      • *A livestream of the 7:30 pm performance will also be available to purchase
    • For more than three decades, Jean-Yves Thibaudet has performed world-wide, recorded more than 50 albums, and built a reputation as one of today’s finest pianists. Thibaudet’s recording catalogue has received two Grammy nominations, the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik, the Diapason d’Or, the Choc du Monde de la Musique, the Edison Prize, and Gramophone awards.
  • Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis
    • April 23 & 24*, 2021 at 7:30 pm
      • *A livestream of the April 24th concert will also be available to purchase
    • Under Music Director Wynton Marsalis, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra performs a vast repertoire, from rare historic compositions to Jazz at Lincoln Center‐commissioned works, including compositions and arrangements by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Fletcher Henderson, Thelonious Monk, Mary Lou Williams, Dizzy Gillespie, Benny Goodman, Charles Mingus, and many others.

VIRTUAL PROGRAMMING

Each of the below virtual events will have a $10 ticket available for the public to purchase.

  • WAITRESS
    • Moderated discussion with Bailey McCall (Jenna)
    • February 9, 2021 at 6 pm
    • Topics may include: the music of WAITRESS and Sara Bareilles; how Bailey McCall gets into character; life on the road; life through the pandemic.
    • Bailey McCall is a NYC-based actress, singer, and fashion blogger
    • The in-person production of WAITRESS at the Gaillard Center is currently postponed to Spring Season 2022 with a new date to be announced.
  • SUMMER: THE DONNA SUMMER MUSICAL
    • Virtual discussion with Sergio Trugillo, Choreographer
    • March 8, 2021 at 6 pm
    • Topics may include: music and fashion icon and groundbreaking businesswoman, Donna Summer; the movement of SUMMER; the era of disco music; the diverse cast and strong women featured in SUMMER.
    • SERGIO TRUJILLO (Choreographer) Recipient of the 2019 Tony Award for Ain’t Too Proud, and an Olivier award for Memphis
    • The in-person production of SUMMER: THE DONNA SUMMER MUSICAL at the Charleston Gaillard Center is currently postponed to Spring Season 2022 with a new date to be announced.
  • AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN
    • Virtual discussion with Work Light Productions’ President and Executive Producer, Stephen Gabriel, and a member of the show’s creative/producing team
    • April 30, 2021 at 6 pm
    • Topics may include: how a Broadway show is created; how AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN came together.
    • STEPHEN GABRIEL founded Work Light Productions in 2008, after 4 years creating and developing new works for young audiences. The company has since grown into an industry leading producing and general management company. He is a graduate of Manhattan School of Music, having spent over a decade as a working musician, followed by a successful career as a booking agent with The Booking Group and Columbia Artists Management. Steve holds the title of President and Executive Producer
    • The in-person production of AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN at the Charleston Gaillard Center is rescheduled to December 14, 2021.
  • BEAUTIFUL – THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL
    • Virtual discussion with Jason Howland, Musical Supervisor and Arranger
    • May 10, 2021 at 6 pm
    • Topics may include: the music of Carole King; the different eras of her compositions from teenage songwriter through to Tapestry; Carole King as a reluctant performer; what you may not know about Carole King that you will see in BEAUTIFUL – THE CAROLE KING MUSICA
    • The in-person production of BEAUTIFUL – THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL at the Charleston Gaillard Center is currently postponed to Spring Season 2022 with new dates to be announced.
  • AN EVENING WITH AUDRA MCDONALD
    • Virtual discussion with Audra McDonald.
    • June 27, 2021 at 6 pm
    • Topics may include: discussing her career, activism, and projects through the pandemic.
    • AUDRA MCDONALD is the winner of a record-breaking six Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards, and an Emmy Award, she was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2015 and received a 2015 National Medal of Arts—America’s highest honor for achievement in the arts—from President Barack Obama
    • The in-person production of An Evening with Audra McDonald at the Charleston Gaillard Center is rescheduled to November 6, 2021.

The Gaillard Center is working to announce rescheduled dates as soon as possible for all postponed performances. If you purchased tickets from the Gaillard Center, you will be contacted with additional details.
