Charlotte-based Baking Collaborative Bringing Cookie Decorating Classes to Mt. Pleasant

Sweet Spot Studio, a baking collaborative based in Charlotte, is popping up in Mount Pleasant for a day of cookie decorating classes, shopping, treats, a free cooking decorating station, and more. The “X Marks the Spot” pop-up event will be held on Saturday, April 17th, from 11 am to 5 pm.

In North Carolina, Sweet Spot Studio offers pastry and baking classes to all levels of bakers, as well as intensive workshops for industry professionals. Here’s a look at their Mt. Pleasant pop-up schedule:

Cookie Decorating Classes

• 3 beginner level cookie decorating classes will be offered. No experience is required
  • 11 am – 12:30 pm: Sushi Themed Cookie Decorating Class
  • 1 pm – 2:30 pm: Ice Cream Themed Cookie Decorating Class
  • 3 pm – 5 pm: Baking Fun Themed Cookie Decorating Class
• Classes require preregistration and include everything needed for class, the cookie cutters of the cookies decorated in class, and product samples
• Gluten free options are available
• The classes are for students age 11+, students under 14 must attend with an adult also registered in the class

Shopping & Treats

In addition, Sweet Spot Studio will be selling and sampling their online/take home class offerings, baked goods, Paint Your Own Cookies, baking supplies, and gifts.

They will be joined by The Pillar Celebrations who specializes in hand made cake toppers and party supplies, and Mt. Pleasant-based Carolima’s Dessert Boutique.

Free Cookie Decorating Station

Registration is encouraged but not required for the “dip method cookie decorating station.” The Sweet Spot Studio will teach you how to create marbled royal icing sugar cookies (Ages 4+).

All events will take place in the Sweetgrass Pavilion at Mt. Pleasant Waterfront Park (99 Harry M. Hallman Junior Boulevard).
