Pop-Up Exhibitions Coming to Julia Deckman Studio
Julia Deckman Studio (JDS) next month will start hosting guest artists in a small gallery space dubbed the In Situ Pop-Up Showroom. Each month, a different emerging artist will be exhibiting a cohesive body of work. These exhibitions are kicked off by an opening night, free for the public to attend and enjoy.
JDS hopes that artists will use this space as an opportunity to experiment, lean into the ideas they find most exciting, curate these thoughts into a cohesive show, and ultimately translate them to the public.
Their next exhibition is “Between Harm an Harmony,” a show by local artist Andrew King. Opening night is Thursday, April 8th from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. Face coverings are required for entry.
King’s Artist Statement: “My work comes from reflection on experience. I find Inspiration in questions that stick with me. Through the process of object and image making, I further my feelings and understanding on topics in a piece. I want my audience to apply their experiences to my work and to find connections in the shared human search for meaning.”
JDS says the showroom is booked for 2021 and proposals are currently closed.
