Charleston Opera Theater to Present “The Tragedy of Carmen” at the Hanahan Amphitheater
On Saturday, May 8th, 2021 at 7:30 pm, Charleston Opera Theater will host a performance of “The Tragedy of Carmen” at the Hanahan Amphitheater.
There will also be pre-show entertainment by College of Charleston Opera performing excerpts of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro conducted by Charleston Symphony Orchestra’s Yuriy Bekker.
Director Sara Widzer’s production will be presented as a 1930s-style radio drama with singers, actors, orchestra and will even feature a live Foley sound effects artist. The entire performance will last approximately 2 hours.
Socially distanced seating will be as follows: Bring your own seating general admission for$40, reserved square for up to 4 people for $160, VIP square with chairs provided for up to 4 people for $200. Tickets go on sale April 5th and will be available through www.charlestonoperatheater.org or www.citypapertickets.com.
Food trucks and drink concessions will be available starting at 6 pm.
The Hanahan Amphitheater is located at 3100 Mabeline Rd. in Hanahan.
