NAMI Charleston Area invites Lowcountry students between 6th and 12 grade to submit an original work of sea turtle art. The object of the contest is to design a mascot that symbolizes a positive mental health image, as well as represent the values and mission of NAMI Charleston Area.

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
One out of every five families has a loved one who suffers from a major psychiatric illness (brain disorder) such as schizophrenia or bipolar illness (manic depression). Millions more suffer from depression, anxiety, ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), and PSTD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
NAMI Charleston Area is an organization that values all members of the family affected by issues related to mental health. They provide programs for individuals with a mental health condition and their family members, friends, and others who provide care and support for them.
