Breath to Blossom (B2B), a new local nonprofit, will host Yoga for Good, its official launch event, on April 18th at South Carolina Society Hall. The Saturday trifecta of meditation, all levels yoga, and brunch will be held in collaboration with Charleston Good and the aformentioned SC Society Hall.
Tickets are $10 with 100% of proceeds to benefit B2B programs which provide accessible trauma-informed services at no cost to participants. Your ticket also enters you into a raffle to win a FREE month of membership at Charleston Power Yoga’s two locations. You can purchase your tickets at CharlestonGood.com.
SC Society Hall is located at 72 Meeting Street in Charleston.
Breath to Blossom offers a nine week program to survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and intimate abuse via trauma informed yoga, yoga therapy, and optional clinical therapy. A B2B session provides an opportunity for survivors to be curious and explore their own range of motion, strength, and self confidence to make empowered healing choices for themselves.
“Breath To Blossom has simply been created to nurture the power that is already within each survivor, to reclaim agency over their body, life and the essence of their inherent powerful inner being,” said B2B Founder Ashley Mizzell. “I chose the name Breath To Blossom, because your breath is the most powerful tool that you have. One must connect with self, and breathe before anything. We blossom, and we move forward. We change the narrative from surviving to thriving.”
You can listen to Holy City Sinner’s interview with Mizzell here.
The staff at BTB strives to create brave space by using innovative techniques, mindfulness practices, and breathwork for survivors to assert their own physical boundaries, and establish control over their physical space.
