Mentoring Program Continues to Celebrate Its Members for Being Gentlemen
The Distinguished Gentlemen’s Club Mentoring Program, the premiere community mentoring program of Lowcountry Youth Services, will be having its annual End of Year DGC Awards and Induction Ceremony. This is a night of celebration for their members who have done tremendous work within the organization and the community throughout the year.
The Induction Ceremony is a celebration of the young men who have completed their candidacy period. As a part of this process, these young men have participated in mentoring sessions, monthly meetings, community service outreach opportunities, and individual volunteerism. Awards will be given to members for their community service and dedication to the program. There are also peer-nominated Character Awards that the members of the organization vote on. A particular highlight of the evening is the 2021 Distinguished Gentleman of the Year and Mentor of the Year Awards.
The event will also feature keynote speaker Chris Singleton and honor community resource connector and Founder of SC Mentors, Samuel Bellamy Jr.
The ceremony will begin at 5 pm on June 5th, 2021, at Hanahan High School Auditorium, (6015 Murray Ave, Hanahan). Doors will open at 4:30 pm. Admission is free, and the community is invited to attend, though seating is limited due to COVID-19 precautions. Please be advised that safety protocols will be in place.
