HBO’s “The Righteous Gemstones” Seeking “Many” Extras
A local casting agency is currently accepting submissions for those interested in working as paid extras on the second season of The Righteous Gemstones, a HBO show starring Danny McBride, John Goodman, Edi Patterson, and Adam DeVine. The agency says “many extras” are needed in July.
Tona B. Dahlquist Casting is currently seeking people from Charleston or the surrounding area for the following roles:
- Church Goers
- Needed on 7/1, 7/2 and/or 7/6
- You can film on one or ALL of the dates listed
- Newborn Twins
- Ages 6 weeks to 4 months
- Current or Former Military or Law Enforcement Males
- To portray snipers, mercenaries, compound security, armed guard types
- Needed for 7/12
- Professional Fire Eaters
- Current or Former EMT’s/Paramedics
- Needed for 7/12
- Muscular Males for reoccurring featured roles

Anyone selected must have two pre-filming COVID tests. These tests are provided and paid for by production at a North Charleston location. Those filming will receive an additional $50 per test ($100 for having both) on their filming day pay voucher.

The Righteous Gemstones, is a half-hour comedy series created by McBride, who wrote, directed, executive produced, and acted in the show. The entire first season was filmed in the Charleston area. The series tells the story of the world famous Gemstone televangelist family, which has a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work, all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
