“365 Days of Pride Party,” Park Circle Pride’s Finale, is Tonight
The Park Circle Pride Finale, “365 Days of Pride Party,” will be held today at DIG In The Park from 6 pm to 10 pm. The event includes a lineup of performers including Symone N. O’Bishop, Phoenix B. Valentino, Sapphire Lefaris, Beau O’ Bishop, Diamond Giovanni, and DJ Aiko Finesse.
In addition, today is the National Day of LGBTQ Giving known as Give OUT Day, part of a month-long fundraising campaign culminating on June 30th, the only national day of giving for the LGBTQ community. This event will raise money for local LGBTQ organizations including Charleston Black Pride, We Are Family, and AFFA.
“Today, as the LGBTQ community celebrates 52 years of Stonewall, remember that there are still so many individuals fighting for acceptance from their family members, church families, in the workplace, communities, stereotypes, and aggression from their same race, legal issues, and just pure ignorance from others,” said Regina Duggins, The Founder of Charleston Black Pride. “Learn to love a person that is different from you and understand that cruelty doesn’t have to be displayed because you disagree. Because at the end of the day; no one can change anyone unless they want to be changed! Let’s Let Love Win!!”
