Black History All Year Long: Focus on Women Discussion Series Continues on August 19th

The Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission’s discussion series called “Black History All Year Long: Focus on Women” continues on August 19th. The role, impact, and unique challenges of Black women will be highlighted with another 90-minute virtual program held via ZOOM starting at 6 pm.

The discussion series debuted during Black History Month and will continue throughout the year. The format for each event includes a historical overview, special guest, and moderated discussion, ending with a question and answer session.

Please join us the third program in the series on August 19. This session will be a discussion about the origins, impact and challenges of dealing with colorism.

The fourth and final program in this year’s series will be held on Oct. 21.

Each program is held from 6 – 7:30 p.m. and will focus on celebrating, respecting, and raising awareness about Black women. The program is free, but space is limited, and registration is required.
