Summerville Theater to Host 9/11 20th Anniversary Fundraiser Performance of “110 Stories”
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of September 11th, 2001, IMPACT Creative Arts Academy is offering two benefit performances of Sarah Tuft’s powerful play 110 Stories.
From the first attack at the Twin Towers to a last goodbye at Ground Zero, 110 Stories takes the audience through 9/11 as told by those who were there. Based on interviews, this docu-play weaves together stories not shown on the news, from people we can relate to; a mother, a photojournalist, an ironworker, a chiropractor, and a homeless man who saved lives that day. Their unflinching and occasionally bittersweet accounts capture the shock, horror, and heroism of that day, as well as the resilience of New York City in its aftermath. Remaining apolitical, 110 Stories memorializes September 11th by humanizing history to reveal our innate compassion.
Featuring a cast of professional actors, 110 Stories will be interwoven with archival radio clips and projected images. Note: Performance contains adult language and content.
All tickets are $20 and can be purchased here.
A portion of proceeds will go to:
- Tunnel to Towers Foundation – https://t2t.org/
