Brookgreen Gardens Kicks Off the Fall Season with the Harvest Home Weekend

Published

on

Brookgreen Gardens invites visitors to attend their annual fall festival, Harvest Home Weekend, on October 2nd and 3rd. This favorite family-friendly event held on the property’s botanical gardens will feature all the quintessential fall activities like pumpkin picking and painting, a hay maze, and a scarecrow making contest.

The scarecrow making contest at Harvest Home Weekend is a beloved tradition to many local families. Some groups will strategize their scarecrow’s look months ahead of the festival while others jump in and let the creativity flow as they go. There are scarecrow making kits available at the event or visitors can bring supplies with them from home. For $5, guests can take their scarecrow home with them to use as fall décor.

There will be food available for purchase from vendors. Greg Rowles, an Alabama Theatre favorite, and other talented entertainers will be providing musical entertainment to soundtrack the weekend.

Guests may explore the entirety of Brookgreen’s grounds as access to the festival is included in general admission. The pumpkin painting and scarecrow building activities are separate fees.

Brookgreen Gardens is located at 1931 Brookgreen Drive in Murrells Inlet. Click here for more information about this event
