Honor Military Heroes With Flags at Towne Centre This Veteran’s Day
The East Cooper Breakfast Rotary Club has the perfect way to honor our military heroes this Veteran’s Day – by showcasing over 200 American flags at its 3rd Annual Flags for Heroes event being held November 9th through 15th at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre. Individuals and businesses can sponsor a flag(s) in honor of an active or retired veteran, and the Rotary Club will tag the name of the hero on the flag making a great photo opportunity!
Proceeds raised through the Flags for Heroes program will be used for Rotary service projects and to support the Charleston Fisher House, a comfortable place for the families of heroes to stay while they are being treated at Charleston’s Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. Last year, the club gave $5,000 to the Charleston Fisher House, donated over 60 hygiene kits to East Cooper Community Outreach, and partnered with Toys for Tots by donating over 60 children’s bikes. The club also volunteered at East Cooper Community Outreach as well as Rotary Ready, a volunteer-based program held at East Cooper Medical Center where thousands of COVID-19 vaccine shots were given.
The cost of an individual sponsorship is $60 for a single flag and pole. Visit charlestonrotaryflags.org to learn how to be a sponsor and honor your hero!
