Viva Chicken CEO on Why The Restaurant Chose Charleston for Expansion
Viva Chicken, a fast-casual Peruvian rotisserie joint which has a restaurant under construction in Summerville, is set to open in December 2021. Ahead of its Lowcountry debut, Viva Chicken CEO Gerald Pulsinelli provided insight into Viva’s decision to target the Charleston area for expansion.
“Charleston is one of the great cities in America, full of many fantastic food options and we’re excited to add Viva to the mix,” said Pulsinelli. “Summerville specifically is such a great community and one of the fastest-growing cities in the area, which is one of the reasons we narrowed our search there. Nexton Square has become a destination for local foodies and guests visiting the area as well, so we jumped at the opportunity for that to be our first Lowcountry location.”
Viva Chicken’s Summerville location will be located within Nexton Square – 506 Nexton Square Drive, Suite 103, Summerville.
Founded by Chef Bruno Macchiavello and Randy Garcia, Viva Chicken has been cooking up Peruvian food since 2013. Viva’s menu is highlighted by Pollo a la Brasa – charcoal-fire-roasted chicken served hot and fresh – a staple of Peruvian street food. The menu also includes soups, salads, sandwiches, bowls and a variety of signature sides in a welcoming, casual environment.
The Nexton location will be the 14th for the fast-casual brand. Viva Chicken also has restaurants in the Charlotte area, North Carolina Triad and Utah.
