Nighttime Lane Closures in Downtown Charleston

Charleston County Public Works will this week close lanes on Calhoun, George, and Queen Streets to spray asphalt rejuvenator. Parking will be prohibited during work hours. Vehicles parked after 7 pm will be towed.

Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic. All dates and times are weather dependent.

Tentative construction dates:

• Calhoun Street: Tuesday, November 9th and Wednesday, November 10th from 7 pm to 7 am
• George Street: Wednesday, November 10th from 7 pm to 7 am
• Queen Street: Saturday, November 13th from 12 am to 8 am

The spray-on rejuvenator treatment protects the asphalt from sun and water exposure. It also extends the road’s life by five years, which reduces long-term maintenance costs.
