Charleston County Parks will once again host the Fairy House Festival at Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park on Saturday, January 22nd from 10 am to 2 pm. Advance registration is required.
“Fairy houses” are made from non-living, natural items such as twigs and leaves, that local children build for “the fairies and gnomes of Palmetto Island County Park who need new abodes for the winter.”
Kids of all ages are invited to this festive event to build their very own fairy house while discovering nature and creative expression in a family-friendly festival atmosphere. Highlights include the chance to build a fairy house, story time with the Charleston County Public Library, face painting, a climbing wall, and a kids’ nature craft. Food truck fare from Wich Cream and Weltons Fine Foods will be available for purchase on site.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet and take photos with Tinkerbell. Children are encouraged to come dressed as a fairy or gnome for extra fun.
Advance registration is required and will be limited. On-site registration will not be available. A chaperone is required to remain on site with children. All family members must register in order to attend the festival. Registration is $5 per person and is available here. Admission to Palmetto Islands County Park, which is $2 per person or free with the Gold Pass, is a separate fee. Food and face painting will be an additional cost.
