The Royal American to Replace Wiki Wiki Sandbar on Folly Beach with “Little Sister” Concept

Folly Beach restaurant Wiki Wiki Sandbar today announced that their last day of business will be on December 31st of this year. The team also shared that the folks behind downtown bar The Royal American will take over the space and open a new bar/restaurant in the spring of 2022.

Wiki Wiki Sandbar originally opened in 2018 at 106 East Ashley Avenue. The restaurant was opened by Charleston restaurateur Karalee Fallert, who is also behind Taco Boy, The Park Cafe, and The Royal American, and her business partner April Bennett. In September of 2020 Wiki Wiki Sandbar announced they were swapping locations with the Folly Beach Taco Boy and re-opened at its current address of 15 Center Street in November of that year. Taco Boy is still open on East Ashley Avenue.

The Royal American is a popular downtown bar located at 970 Morrison Drive. They frequently feature live music and their food offerings are often praised by locals and visitors alike.

No other details on new concept have been announced at this time, but Holy City Sinner will be sure to share more details as they are made available.
