Pup Bowl Returns to Mount Pleasant Towne Centre on February 12th

Published

on

Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre (MPTC) and the Charleston Animal Society (CAS) will once again team up to host Pup Bowl V on Saturday, February 12th, from noon to 3 pm.

The action-packed afternoon will feature adorable ruff-housing, various fundraising activities to benefit Charleston Animal Society, live entertainment, balloon animals, face painting, and more. Last year, the Kansas City Canines went paws to paws with the Tampa Bay Barketeers; who will face off this year? The teams will be announced two weeks prior to the event.

Pup Bowl V kicks off at noon, with emcee and “rufferee” Silvano Bravo and live music from DJ Luigi of Latin Groove Entertainment. The National Anthem will be sung by a student from Bach to Rock and cheerleaders from Wando High School will be rooting the teams on from the sidelines. Additionally, as the pups are taking a break, guests can enjoy a special halftime performance by Jig & Kelly. Tailgate sips and bites will be available from Zimos Gyros, New Dog Hot Dog Cart, Holy City Popcorn, and Charleston Pops, along with beer and wine from Burtons Grill + Bar.

Tickets are five dollars per person and all proceeds will directly benefit Charleston Animal Society. Registration will run from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm. All spectators who visit the Mount Pleasant Towne Centre registration table and like and follow the Towne Centre on Facebook and Instagram, or register with a valid email address, will receive a special treat from Hairy Winston Pet Boutique.

Potential adopters must visit the Charleston Animal Society registration table prior to kickoff in order to receive a registration number. Adopters wishing to register after kickoff may be accepted on a case-by-case basis. All adoptions will be decided at random and if your number is selected, you may choose a remaining pup from that quarter only. In the event you do not want a pup from that quarter, your number will be placed back into the drawing. Once all pups in the quarter have been selected for adoption, spectators will have a chance to make a donation in order to come onto the field for up to five minutes per person, per visit.
