Caffeination for Troops
One of my favorite Lowcountry spots, LOCAL Market & Coffee Bar, is running an interesting charity drive: LOCAL Beans for Troops.
The West Ashley coffee shop will be taking donations of coffee beans for troops serving overseas and local veterans. The goal is to hit 50 lbs by the September 25th deadline.
LOCAL says that half of the beans will be added to care packages sent out by the Soldiers’ Angels. The other half will be given to the VFW on James Island.
If buying a 12 oz bag of coffee beans is too much for you, you can still help! The barista told me they are also accepting loose change for donations!
LOCAL is open from 7am-7pm every day and is located at 1331 Ashley River Road. While you’re there being charitable, you might as well treat yourself to a tasty pastry and iced coffee!
