Daps Canned Mimosas Launch into Retail Stores and Restaurants

Daps Breakfast and Imbibe, a popular breakfast and brunch spot in the Westside neighborhood, has launched a new business endeavor, Daps Beverage Company. The first product for the new company is the canned Daps O.G. (original) Mimosa, which was launched in retail locations and restaurants in December of 2021.

The product, a canned mimosa, was the result of a COVID-19 pivot in April of 2020. Towards the beginning of the pandemic, Daps switched to strictly take-out, but consumers kept asking about the mimosas, which Daps offered on tap.

Nick Dowling and Jeremiah Schenzel, Daps Breakfast owner/operators, wanted a way to get the drink into consumers’ hands, so with the help of a few industry friends, they had a canned mimosa developed in a span of 48 hours. With the runaway popularity of the canned beverage among their customers, they began exploring ways to get the Daps O.G. Mimosa into more locations outside of the restaurant.

“The canned beverage market is here and growing at a fast pace, but what sets our product apart is the dialed-in recipe and flavors,” Nick Dowling said of the mimosa that “begins with a still, dry wine and is married with fresh citrus and bubbles, making it far different than the average mimosa.”

In an effort to get their product into the market, Nick and Jeremiah partnered with Elizabeth Dowling, who has six years of national consumer packaged-goods and alcohol sales experience.

The partners have chosen Advintage Distributing as their South Carolina distributor, with plans to enter into the North Carolina and Tennessee markets immediately.
