Line of Canned Cocktails Created by a Charlestonian Are Now Available Throughout the State
A line of canned cocktails that was created by Charlestonian Doug Mulford is now available throughout South Carolina. The product, Drift Cocktails, features an entire line of beverages that are under 85 calories, gluten-free, and has no artificial additives. The company says it’s collection of flavors are the lowest calorie and highest ABV (7%) canned cocktail options available to date.
Drift Cocktails says their ingredients include corn sourced from North Carolina farms, sugarcane and blackstrap imported from the Virgin Islands and Jamaica, tequila from Mexico, and fruit sourced from a local North Carolina purveyor. The brand’s four flavors include:
- Blood Orange – organic vodka mixed with blood oranges
- Passion Fruit Rum – Virgin Islands white rum, natural passion fruit and guava
- Tequila Lime – blue agave tequila blanco with natural lime
- Meyer Lemon – organic vodka with natural meyer lemon
“Drift is so much more than refreshing cocktails,” said Mulford, the company’s founder and distiller. “I couldn’t be more proud of our dedication to creating a brand that celebrates the ingredients that go into them. I’ve been rooted in the beverage world for a long time and have always been fascinated by how ingredients react with one another; that mindset combined with our emphasis on health, quality and process is what really sets Drift apart.”
Drift is currently available in select stores, supermarkets, and independent retailers throughout South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. The brand plans to continue to expand its footprint into new markets and regions through 2022, with the goal to be nationwide by 2024.
