Moonlight Ale Kicks Off Annual “Ale Trail” St. Paddy’s Day Run
Charleston-based Irish folk band Moonlight Ale is set to embark on the “Ale Trail,” its yearly March tour of the Charleston area.
Featuring Jimmy McElligot (guitar/vocals), Patrick Brown (percussion), Chuck Hamilton (bass/vocals), Sinead Farrelly (tin whistle/accordion), and George Stevens (mandolin/vocals), the band originated in 2001, and its current lineup has played together since 2017. Their music is inspired by contemporary, folk, and punk elements from across the pond, with a dose of Lowcountry feel. The band’s most recent release, No Waste of Whiskey, was released in 2020.
