Getting inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame is one of the biggest privileges that a poker player can face. It is very difficult to do so, as one might imagine, but if you do make it here you will be in the company of some of the best players of all time. How do you get inducted, and who is next in line for the Poker Hall of Fame? Let’s take a look.

How to Get Inducted

As one can imagine, you need to be the best of the best to be considered to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame. This can mean several years of hard graft to ensure that you are able to win at tournaments all around the world.

You don’t necessarily have to become a household name in the world of poker, but you will definitely be known to a lot of players in the community. From the Main Event of the WSOP to games in the WPT, there are plenty of chances for you to build a name for yourself as a player. You then have to receive a nomination from another player, and then the wider poker community votes on who should be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame out of the list of nominees. So, who do we think deserves a nomination?

ElkY

Bertrand Grospellier, better known by his screen name ElkY, is a skilled poker player who serves as one of the pros at online poker destination ggpoker.com. Poker is not his only game of choice – he initially made a name for himself playing StarCraft.

As a poker player, he has won both a WPT and an EPT title, and has secured a WSOP bracelet. This has helped to give him the elusive Triple Crown of poker. Gaining a position in the Hall of Fame would no doubt be the final feather in his cap.

Antonio Esfandiari

If you follow poker on TV at all, you will no doubt be familiar with Esfandiari. He has appeared on most of the best poker TV shows, and his presence has done a lot for the game.

It is estimated that he has so far made approximately $27 million from the tournaments he has played in. He also has three WSOP bracelets, one of which comes from being the first winner of the WSOP Big One for One Drop, and two WPT titles amongst his other accomplishments. There is no doubt that he will enter the Poker Hall of Fame – it is just a matter of when.

Patrik Antonius

Antonius is a Finnish player who has sat down at many tables both in the WPT and EPT. His adventures in poker have meant that he has also faced off across many greats of the poker world including Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu – both inductees into the Poker Hall of Fame themselves.

His approach to the game is one that is admired by many different players. He is a heads up specialist, and is a great cash game player too. While many might think that his achievements have already made him worthy of a place in the Poker Hall of Fame, there are others who believe he needs to grab a WSOP bracelet first.

These are three players who we are likely to see making their way into the Poker Hall of Fame at some point in the future. They are all popular players, and they have brought their own flair to the game of poker. Who out of this bunch do you think will make it to the Poker Hall of Fame first?
