Sterling deVries, Director of Education at the Gaillard Center, notes, “Under the creative and technical leadership of our amazing Colin Skinner, and technical crew, we are pleased to release series two of Setting the Stage. This series takes a science, technology, career and art integrated focus on the inner workings of a performance hall. Teachers will have a resource that correlates with multiple grade levels and standards and helps keep arts in the schools despite the challenges of COVID.”
Eric Corriher, Technical Director at the Gaillard Center, stated, “The latest additions to the Setting the Stage series introduce the audience to even more facets of technical production while also serving as a companion to the earlier episodes by illustrating the symbiotic relationship between both the creative and the technical processes at work. The final episode of the new group is a culmination of the lessons from all prior episodes featuring the star of Setting the Stage, Riley the Tech Dog, and will have audiences of all ages begging for an encore!”
Colin Skinner, Performance Hall Technical Manager, noted, “Building on the technical fundamentals established in the first 8 episodes, Riley (the tech dog) and crew expand into production design. We explore how technicians combine individual components of Lighting, Sound, Video and Scenery to create a very special…’Ri-Dog Rock Show!’ It is a Fun, Funky, Flashy and even Foggy four episodes!”
