Travis Bedson Announces Bid for South Carolina State Superintendent
Republican businessman Travis Bedson (right) this week announced his candidacy for South Carolina Superintendent of Education. He said he is running “to bring a new perspective and better deal for our children.”
With South Carolina consistently ranked one of the worst states in education, Bedson said he is entering the race for “parents who aren’t getting their money’s worth.” His plan is to fight for dollars in the classroom and expand workforce development programs.
Bedson is CEO of CNT Foundations, which works with everyone from homeowners to The United States Marine Corp, US Naval Academy, Nucor Steel, Cummings, Boeing, The Citadel, and Clemson University. CNT was recognized in Inc. Magazine as one of the 5000’s fastest growing companies in America.
A South Carolina native, Bedson grew up in Summerville and graduated from the College of Charleston with his Bachelors in Psychology.
