Ellis Roberts Files for State House District 110, Currently Held by Rep. William Cogswell
Ellis Roberts has filed to run as the Democratic candidate for South Carolina House District 110, currently held by Representative William Cogswell (R-Charleston). An attorney, Roberts owns a law practice in downtown Charleston where he has been practicing for ten years.
“The Lowcountry is special and I want to keep it that way,” Roberts said. “I’m running to be your state representative because we need someone who will work to solve the problems we face every day like traffic and flooding, manage growth while supporting our local economy, and protect our coastal environment. I will listen to everyone and work with anyone to do what’s best for the people of Charleston County.”
House District 110 includes parts of Mount Pleasant, downtown Charleston, James Island, and West Ashley. The coastal district was carried by President Joe Biden in 2020 and James Smith during his 2018 gubernatorial run, making it a top target for Democrats this year.
Roberts lives in Mount Pleasant with his wife, Mary, and their four young boys, James, Bert, Jack, and Bo, along with their dog, Birdie.
