Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) Young Adults Program to Clean Up Marsh
The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) Young Adults Program and Keep Charleston Beautiful have partnered to clean up the marsh area next to the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge pedestrian pathway Monday evening as a service project to honor the memory of fallen military loved ones.
Since 1994, TAPS, a nonprofit organization, has offered support to all those grieving the death of a military loved one. The TAPS Young Adults Program provides care to 18- to 30-year-old surviving children and siblings of service members. The TAPS Young Adults Program curriculum focuses on five pillars: personal development, career guidance, communications, financial stability, and service to others.
The cleanup was organized to honor the life and service of military loved ones and incorporate their “Service to Others” pillar of growth.
Keep Charleston Beautiful organized the cleanup opportunity for the TAPS Young Adults volunteers.
“We are grateful to the TAPS Young Adults Program for choosing Charleston to honor their fallen military loved ones with this service project,” Keep Charleston Beautiful Program Manager Jamie Gillette said. “We appreciate their work to maintain a beautiful environment for Charleston.”
