Joe Cunningham Raises Over $400,000 in First Quarter of 2022
Joe Cunningham today announced that his campaign for Governor of South Carolina has raised over $400,000 in the first quarter of 2022. Since the start of the campaign, Cunningham’s team says he has raised more than $1.7 million.
Cunningham had previously broken the record for most money raised by a Democratic gubernatorial challenger in their initial fundraising quarter when he raised $634,000 in the second quarter of last year.
Cunningham’s fundraising by the numbers (according to his campaign):
- Total raised since campaign launch: $1.7 million
- Total raised this quarter: $403,625.71
- Number of contributions since campaign launch: 10,752
- Cash on hand: $536,138
- PAC money: $0
“I am incredibly grateful for the support we have received throughout this campaign,” Cunningham said. “People in South Carolina are ready for a governor who is going to offer real solutions to the problems facing our state, and that’s exactly what this campaign represents. Whether it’s suspending the gas tax to combat out-of-control gas prices, providing record raises to our hardworking teachers, or ending the prohibition on marijuana, our campaign has put forth bold plans to help South Carolinians. Career politicians like Henry McMaster have failed South Carolina for too long. We are building a campaign unlike any our state has ever seen and raising the resources the Democratic nominee will need to defeat Henry McMaster and bring South Carolina out of the past and into the future.”
