Charleston Probate Judge Candidate Tamara Curry Breaks Fundraising Record

Published

Probate Judge candidate Tamara Curry’s campaign says she has raised more money than any Democrat running for countywide office in Charleston history in the first quarter of 2022. Curry posted $66,107.38 and now has over $71,000 on-hand going into her June 14th Democratic Primary.

The Curry campaign says they have received contributions from 258 donors. Ninety-seven of them gave $50 or less.

Curry has served as Associate Probate Judge for Charleston County for the last 22 years and is the first African American to be president of the College of Probate Judges.

“The support our people-powered campaign has received has been humbling and incredibly encouraging,” Curry said. “The Probate Court affects families in so many ways and there’s a clear desire to improve and modernize it. I am committed to being a Judge for the people of this county.”

Curry significantly outraised Republican incumbent Irv Condon who reported $44,911 for the quarter. Curry’s opponent in the Democratic Primary has yet to file an ethics disclosure for the 2022 cycle.
