The 20/20 League Kicks Off 2022 Youth Basketball Season

The 20/20 League, a local, family-friendly, summer-long event, on Thursday takes on their second game of their 2022 youth summer basketball season from 6 pm to 8 pm at the North Charleston Athletic Center ( 5794 Casper Padgett Way). The series recurs every Thursday until June 9th.

The 20/20 League includes a competitive 10-game regular season schedule along with academic preparation, NCAA clearinghouse assistance, and keynote speakers. Serving over 200 families, they are dedicated to developing student athletes in the Greater Charleston area to promote the importance of sportsmanship, discipline, physical health, and positive community engagement.

“The goal of The 20/20 League is to educate and build a sustainable resource that athletes in every community throughout the tri-county area can utilize,” said co-founder Tre McLean. “We had an amazing turnout this year during registration and are looking forward to more growth and a better future for our youth.”

The winning teams from the April 7th season opener were Sacred Rootz, Marathon Financial Group, Salon 331, Certified Bag Chasers, Marshall Walker Realty, and Mike Green Properties. The 20/20 League has three divisions with six games being held every Thursday at the North Charleston Athletic Center until June 9th. Teams are sponsored by local businesses throughout the Lowcountry.

The 20/20 League was co-founded by Pro Greece Basketball Player Tre McLean and Former Overseas Pro Basketball Player Travis Smith. McLean also played for the Phoenix Suns 2017 Summer League and Smith is currently a coach at his alma mater, Porter-Gaud School.

With the 2022 season underway, girls and boys can still register to play until May 13th. The registration fee is $40 and uniforms are provided.
