Charleston Chapter of Les Dames D’Escoffier to Host The Story of Rice in the Lowcountry
The Charleston Chapter of Les Dames D’Escoffier (LDEI), a worldwide philanthropic society of professional women leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage, and hospitality, is hosting a virtual event showcasing the significance of rice in the Lowcountry and how to cook a local favorite dish that incorporates it. Participants are invited to attend the live discussion and demonstration on Monday, April 25th at 5 pm.
Dame Amethyst Ganaway will demonstrate how to make shrimp purloo with a shared recipe for attendees to cook along or make later. A Q&A session will follow.
Tickets are $15 and will benefit scholarships for women in hospitality.
