SC Whitmore and USC Union Begin Partnership
Columbia, SC – SC Whitmore School (SCWS), a statewide online public charter high school, announces a new partnership with the University of South Carolina Union (USC Union), which will allow SCWS students to complete an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree online by the time they graduate from high school. Students will also have the option to take college courses to count towards their high school graduation requirements.
SC Whitmore students looking to engage in this new dual enrollment partnership must sign up with their school counselor, be a junior or senior, and have at least a 3.0 grade point average. With special permission from SC Whitmore and USC Union, high achieving sophomores at SCWS can participate in the dual enrollment program as well.
“We are excited about our partnership with USC Union,” said Ebone’ Adams SC Whitmore Principal. “This opportunity makes college attainable and affordable by giving our students a head start with their post secondary education. Students are able to explore areas of study, earn an associates degree, or graduate high school early with earned college credits.”
SC Whitmore students will have access to USC Union’s:
Library Database
Student Academic Success Center
Brainfuse Tutoring
Career and Mental Health Counseling
SC Whitmore Executive Director Kim Dunbar said, “This partnership is something we have looked to build for our students and are thrilled it is now a reality. This opportunity gives our students an affordable and comfortable path to continuing their education.”
