This season, the series offers five concerts:

    • The Taylor Festival Choir, led by founder Rob Taylor, performs a program of inspiring  spiritual music featuring two settings of the Miserere liturgical text: one being Allegri’s  famous setting that was for centuries only heard in the Sistine Chapel; the other by Sir  James MacMillan, one of today’s classical scenes greatest composers. Also featured is  “His Light Still Shines”, a rousing work by Moses Hogan celebrating MLK’s life and  abiding impact.
  • Taylor Festival Choir Soloists
    • 4 pm, May 31st at Circular Church – $25 admission
    • This concert features several of the professional singers in the TFC as they perform  works from the classical, Broadway and folk genres. Whether it is an aria by Mozart or  Verdi, a Sondheim or Rogers and Hammerstein favorite, or an Irish air–there is some thing for all tastes, delivered by the exciting professional singing talent that comprises  the Taylor Festival Choir.
  • Celtic Variety Show
    • 6 pm, June 6th at Circular Church $25 admission
    • Renowned Charleston-based Celtic artists come together for an evening of toe-tapping  jigs and reels, and poignant Celtic airs. Featured artists will include Tea and Whiskey  (Karin McQuade and Andrae Raffield), Seanbhoc (Karl Byrne, Steve Rublee and Bart  Saylor) and Na Fidleiri Reimagined (Mary, Kiri and Rob Taylor with ChrisTeves).

“We are so thrilled to be part of the beloved Piccolo Spoleto Festival again this year,” said series coordinators Rob and Mary Taylor. “Piccolo has been an important part of  our city for five decades now. After a Covid-induced interruption, it feels so good to of fer our series, and see other series (such as Steve Rosenberg’s Early Music Series or  the Young Artist series at CofC) offering what we have all craved–live concerts within a  festival environment.”
